- Why It's Called Pickleball (History of the Name)BeginnerThe name is usually credited to Joan Pritchard, wife of co-inventor Joel Pritchard. She said the game reminded her of the "pickle boat" in rowing, a crew thrown together from leftover rowers. A popular story says it was named after the family dog, Pickles, but the dog arrived after the game had its name.
- Wrist FirmnessIntermediateWrist firmness is the degree to which the wrist is held stable — neither locked rigid nor loose and flipping — through contact, controlling the paddle face during fast exchanges.
- Wrong Server or Wrong ReceiverBeginnerIf the wrong player serves, or a server or receiver is in the wrong spot, any player may stop the rally to point it out. A correct claim means the rally is replayed. If nobody notices until the rally is over, the result stands. If you stop play and you are wrong, it is a fault against you.
