Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 14, 2026. Written in plain English to describe how SwingVantage actually handles your data today.

Plain-English policy — not yet reviewed by counsel

This policy describes our current data practices in plain English. It has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel, and we do not claim certified compliance with any specific framework. We recommend independent legal review before commercial launch and before collecting data from users in regulated jurisdictions — for example COPPA for children, GDPR in the EU, EEA, and UK, and CCPA in California.

1. Overview

SwingVantage (“we,” “us,” or “SwingVantage”) provides an AI-powered swing improvement platform for golf, tennis, pickleball, padel, baseball, and softball. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information you provide when using SwingVantage.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not sell your personal data.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account information: name and email address if you create an account
  • Swing and performance data: videos, launch monitor data, analysis results, session history, and notes you enter
  • Profile data: sport preferences, equipment info, skill level, and goals you provide
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns

Local storage: Before you connect an account, all your data is stored locally in your browser. It is not transmitted to our servers until you sign in and sync.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide swing analysis, diagnostic results, and drill recommendations
  • To show your progress over time
  • To improve SwingVantage's AI models and diagnostic engines
  • To communicate important product or account updates

We do not use your swing data for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

SwingVantage is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. This describes our practice; it is not a COPPA certification.

  • If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, email privacy@swingvantage.com and we will delete it promptly.
  • For users under 18, we recommend parental involvement and supervision when recording or uploading videos and creating accounts. A parent or guardian may request access to, or deletion of, that user's data on their behalf.
  • We do not knowingly use children's data for advertising, and we never sell it.

5. Video Privacy

Swing videos you upload are used only for your personal analysis. Videos are not shared publicly by default. We do not use your video content to train shared AI models without explicit consent.

When you run an AI video analysis, a small sample of frames from your video — not the full file — is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate feedback, where it is processed under that provider's own privacy terms. Your full video file is not uploaded to or stored by us. For analysis that never leaves your device, use Motion Lab.

You can delete your videos and analysis data at any time from Settings → Data Management.

6. Third-Party Services

SwingVantage may use third-party services including:

  • Cloud database & authentication: securely stores your account, profile, and training data
  • Cloud hosting & infrastructure: runs the app reliably and securely
  • Third-party AI providers: for written coaching narratives, only pre-computed stats and your first name are sent; for AI video analysis, a small sample of swing frames is sent — never your full video. We do not send your email or account identifiers to AI providers.
  • Analytics: aggregate usage analytics to improve the product

7. Your Rights

Wherever you live, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Export your data (Settings → Backup & Restore)
  • Delete your data and account
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Opt out of marketing communications

Residents of certain regions have additional rights, described in the next two sections.

8. Your GDPR Rights (EU / EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights over your personal data under the GDPR and UK GDPR. We follow GDPR-aligned practices — this describes how we operate, not a legal certification:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the “right to be forgotten”).
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format (Settings → Backup & Restore).
  • Restriction & objection — ask us to pause or stop certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent (such as analytics), you can withdraw it at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.

Our lawful bases are typically your consent (for example, analytics), performance of our agreement with you (providing the app), and our legitimate interest in improving and securing the service. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@swingvantage.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA and CPRA. We follow CCPA-aligned practices — a description of how we operate, not a legal certification:

  • Know — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Delete — request deletion of your personal information.
  • Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service or charge you differently for exercising these rights.

To submit a request, email privacy@swingvantage.com. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone, including minors.

10. Data Deletion & Requests

You can delete your data at any time from Settings → Data Management. Because pre-account data is stored only in your browser, clearing your browser storage also removes it. To request access to, or deletion of, any data associated with you, email privacy@swingvantage.com and we will respond promptly.

11. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only as long as needed to provide SwingVantage to you:

  • Account & training data: retained while your account is active.
  • After you delete data or your account: removed from active systems promptly; residual copies in routine encrypted backups roll off within about 30 days.
  • Pre-account data: stored only in your browser — clearing your browser storage removes it.
  • Operational logs: kept for a short period for security and reliability, then deleted or aggregated.

Exact retention periods are being finalized and are subject to legal review.

12. Cookies & Tracking

We are cookie-light: we run no advertising cookies, and analytics load only with your consent (opt-in in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland). You can change your choice anytime via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for details.
