- Arm CircleBeginnerThe arm circle is the full 360° rotation of the pitching arm around the shoulder joint that defines the fast-pitch windmill delivery and stores elastic energy for release.
- Backing Up BasesBeginnerBacking up bases is the responsibility of defenders not directly involved in a play to position themselves behind a base or the catcher in case a throw is overthrown or misplayed.
- Ball ReceivingBeginnerBall receiving is the technique of catching pitched balls cleanly and quietly. This means presenting them to the umpire in a way that reinforces strike calls and prepares for an immediate throw if needed.
- Bunt PlacementBeginnerBunt placement is the deliberate choice of where to send the ball. This means down a specific line, at a particular fielder, or into a soft spot. Instead of simply making contact.
- Bunting MechanicsBeginnerBunting mechanics refer to the grip, stance, and bat-angle technique used to deaden a pitched ball and direct it to a specific area of the infield, whether for a sacrifice or a base hit.

- Early Swing TriggerBeginnerAn early swing trigger is a timing mistake in which the hitter commits to the swing before the ball has left the pitcher's hand. This usually resulting in weak contact out in front of the plate or a complete miss on any pitch with late movement.

- Pitching CircleBeginnerThe pitching circle is the eight-foot-radius ring marked around the pitcher's plate. Foot-placement rules attach to the pitcher's plate itself. The circle's main rulebook role is the look-back rule. This means once the pitcher has the ball in the circle, a runner off base must immediately advance or return.
- Return to BaseBeginnerReturning to base is the baserunner's ability to retreat back to their original base quickly when the ball is not put in play, avoiding a pickoff or tag-out after their lead.

- Slingshot Wind-UpBeginnerThe slingshot wind-up is a simplified fast-pitch delivery in which the pitcher raises the arm straight back to about shoulder height in a single motion, then brings it forward through just one pass of the arm circle before release.
- Small Ball StrategyBeginnerSmall ball strategy is a team offensive philosophy that prioritizes manufacturing single runs through bunts, steals, hit-and-runs, and sacrifice plays rather than waiting for extra-base hits.
- WindmillBeginnerThe windmill is the underhand fast-pitch delivery in which the arm makes a full 360° circle before release, generating the velocity and movement-pitch deception that define the game.
