Golf Frustration Release

Let frustration out on purpose, so it stops leaking into grip pressure and decisions.

The routine

  1. 1Name it once, plainly: "I’m frustrated." Naming it takes some of its grip away.
  2. 2Squeeze the club handle hard for three seconds, then let go completely.
  3. 3Exhale as if you were fogging a mirror, long and slow.
  4. 4Pick the smartest target for the next shot, not the heroic one.
  5. 5Walk in at your normal pace with loose hands.

Cues

Self-talk cue
“Loose hands, smart target.”
Breath pattern
Slow in, then a long "fog the mirror" breath out.
Physical anchor
Squeeze the grip for three seconds, then release it fully.
Reflection
Where did the frustration show up first — my grip, my pace, or my club choice?

When & how to use it

When: When two or three loose holes in a row are making you tight, fast, or careless.

Practice it: On the range, hit five balls at full grip squeeze, then five after the release, and feel the difference.
