Scorecard Detachment

Keep playing shots, not scoreboard math.

The routine

  1. 1Notice you’re counting — that’s the cue.
  2. 2One breath, then back to this shot only.
  3. 3Pick a target, not a number.
  4. 4Run your normal routine.
  5. 5Stay aggressive to conservative targets.

Cues

Self-talk cue
“This shot, this target.”
Breath pattern
One slow exhale to release the scoreboard.
Physical anchor
Look at your target, not the scorecard.
Reflection
Did I start steering instead of swinging?

When & how to use it

When: When you’re on track for a personal best and start protecting.

Practice it: Practice committing to targets when the score "matters".
