Shank Reset

Calm the spike of panic a shank creates and find one simple thought.

The routine

  1. 1Recognize it’s one swing, not a pattern — yet.
  2. 2Two slow breaths to settle the startle.
  3. 3One simple feel: weight in the arches, hands in close.
  4. 4Make a slow rehearsal swing with that feel.
  5. 5Commit to a stock, smooth swing.

Cues

Self-talk cue
“Hands in, smooth.”
Breath pattern
Two 4-in / 6-out breaths.
Physical anchor
A deliberate slow practice swing as a body reset.
Reflection
Did I tighten my grip and rush after it?

When & how to use it

When: Immediately after a shank, before the next shot.

Practice it: Pair the "hands in, smooth" feel with the breath on the range.
