Error Recovery Reset

Be ready — and wanting — the next ball.

The routine

  1. 1Tap your glove once — the "reset" signal.
  2. 2One breath out.
  3. 3Look to the next hitter or next play.
  4. 4Say: "Want the next one."
  5. 5Reset your feet and athletic posture.

Cues

Self-talk cue
“Want the next one.”
Breath pattern
One sharp exhale, then a normal breath.
Physical anchor
Glove tap = the trigger to let go.
Reflection
Did I want the next ball, or hope it went somewhere else?

When & how to use it

When: Immediately after any fielding or throwing miscue.

Practice it: During grounders, intentionally boot one and run the reset before the next rep.
