What Motion Lab Does

How the frame-by-frame lab turns a phone video into a readable picture of your motion.

4 min

From video to motion

Motion Lab estimates the position of your body through the swing and lays that on top of your own video. You can scrub frame by frame, slow it down, and see the phases of the motion side by side.

It runs on your device first — your video does not have to leave your phone for the basic read to work.

What to look at

Start with the phase markers (setup, top, contact, finish). Most useful insights come from comparing two frames — where you were at the top versus where you were at contact.

The overlays are a guide, not gospel. Trust them most when the video is clear and the whole motion is in frame.

Key takeaways

  • Motion Lab overlays estimated body position on your own video.
  • The basic read runs on your device.
  • Compare phases (top vs contact) to learn the most.
