Ball Position
Ball position is where the ball sits in your stance — from the front foot for a driver to the center for short irons. It directly controls the low point and attack angle.
Forward ball position (toward the lead foot) catches the club at a shallower, more ascending part of the arc; back ball position (toward the trail foot) catches it earlier, more steeply. Correct positions: driver just inside the lead heel; irons graduated toward center. Playing the ball too far back with a driver forces a steep, descending blow and adds spin; too far forward with short irons catches the arc too late, producing thin shots and poor compression.
Example
Moving the driver ball position forward an inch promotes a positive attack angle and replaces a steeply descending spin-heavy drive with a launching, low-spin one.

- Attack AngleAttack angle is the vertical direction the clubhead is moving at impact. Negative means hitting down on the ball; positive means hitting up.
- Low PointLow point is where the clubhead reaches the bottom of its arc through impact. Controlling it — keeping it at or just ahead of the ball with irons — is the basis of pure contact.
- StanceYour stance is how you position your feet, weight, and body at address before the swing. It sets your balance, swing width, and low point.
- Spine TiltSpine tilt at address is the slight away-from-target lean of the spine — especially with a driver — that promotes a positive attack angle and lets the trail shoulder drop below the lead shoulder.
