反击(Counter Attack)
Also known as: 反击, 反打
Focus on meeting the ball out in front of your hip. This means if you can see the contact happen, your contact point is correct and the counter will travel forward rather than up.
Watch the opponent's paddle face angle before they speed up. This means a closing face signals an attack. Pre-loading your counter paddle position from this read gives you an anticipatory edge.
Example
How it shows up on video
SwingVantage tracks reaction time from opponent contact to first-movement initiation, identifying counter-attack delays that suggest late reading rather than mechanical issues. Contact point position relative to the hip is also flagged when the counter is made behind the body.
Common mistakes
- Waiting for the ball to arrive before moving the paddle, losing the half-second needed for a well-placed counter
- Contacting the ball behind the hip with a loose wrist, causing the counter to pop up rather than drive back low
- Counter-attacking with a wide angle back to the corner rather than at the feet or body of the opponent
- Attempting to counter every speed-up when some balls are better absorbed and reset to neutral
In SwingVantage Motion Lab
Motion Lab monitors wrist-angle stability through impact and tracks contact-point position relative to the front hip plane, the two most common mechanical failures in counter-attack execution. Reaction timing is inferred from the initial body-weight shift.
