垒位后援补位

垒位后援补位是指未直接参与某次防守动作的球员,负责站到垒位或捕手身后,以防传球出现失误或漏接。
在几乎每一次活球防守动作中,至少有一名未直接处理球或补位垒包的野手承担着后援职责——沿着传球可能的路线,站在垒位或捕手身后几步的位置,随时准备防止一次糟糕的传球一路滚到围栏,让对方多跑垒位。后援职责通常是根据球被打向何处以及跑垒员所在位置,由球队预先制定的规则来分配,而不是临场决定,因为一旦球被打出,几乎没有时间进行沟通。
