挥重
挥重衡量的是一支球拍在挥动时感觉有多“沉”,把质量的分布方式也纳入考量。挥重更高,能带来更强的贯穿力和力量,但也更难操控。

If you are not sure which swingweight suits you, hit with your current racquet for several sessions and note whether you struggle more with depth and penetration (possibly too low) or with maneuverability and quick exchanges (possibly too high). That observation is more useful than a number in isolation.
Target a swingweight range matched to your style. This means roughly 310–325 for baseline players who want plow-through without sacrificing too much maneuverability, 295–310 for all-court players, and 280–295 for doubles specialists and net-focused players. Use lead tape experiments at 2–3 gram increments and test over at least two sessions before deciding whether the change helped.

Why it matters

How it shows up on video
Swingweight is not directly observable from video. But its effects are. This means a player whose groundstrokes have good depth and penetration but struggles to redirect at the net may be playing with a swingweight that is optimal for the baseline but too high for quick exchanges. Conversely, a player with fast hands who reliably loses depth on baseline drives may benefit from a higher swingweight.
Common mistakes
- Choosing a racquet based only on static weight and ignoring swingweight — two racquets of identical mass can feel completely different in motion.
- Assuming a heavier racquet is always better for power. This means a heavy but head-light racquet may have a lower swingweight than a lighter head-heavy one, and less plow-through as a result.
- Adding lead tape at multiple positions at the same time. This makes it impossible to know which change produced which effect. This means change one location at a time.
- Ignoring swingweight when struggling with arm fatigue. This means a very high swingweight requires more muscular effort to swing repeatedly. This can contribute to elbow and shoulder strain in players with less-than-perfect mechanics.
