Instant Estimate
An Instant Estimate is a fast, heuristic-only analysis result available immediately after upload. This means clearly labeled as an estimate derived from rules, before any AI-enhanced processing completes.
Full AI-enhanced analysis takes time. To avoid leaving you waiting with no feedback, SwingVantage surfaces an Instant Estimate as soon as the heuristic engine has run. This means typically within seconds of the quality gate passing. The estimate shows the most likely primary fault and a confidence score based on what the deterministic engine read. It is always labeled 'Estimate' and is updated on its own when the full analysis completes. Never present an Instant Estimate as a final diagnosis — it is a rapid heuristic read.
Do not change your drill target based solely on the Instant Estimate. Use it as a heads-up. At the same time, you wait for the full analysis. This means if they agree, confidence is higher. If they disagree, always trust the full analysis over the estimate.
Track Instant Estimate accuracy across your sessions. This means if your Instant Estimate reliably matches your full analysis result, your video quality is reliably above the threshold for early heuristic reads. Frequent mismatches indicate you are reliably at the boundary of reliable estimation.
Example
Twenty seconds after upload: 'Instant Estimate — likely over-the-top move (Confidence: 61/100 — Estimated). Full analysis in progress...'
Why it matters
Fast feedback is motivating. Honest labeling ensures you know the difference between a quick read and a confident diagnosis.
How it shows up on video
The Instant Estimate appears seconds after your upload — before you even walk back to your phone. It tells you the most likely primary fault from the quick heuristic read. Use it as a directional indicator and start your warm-up with that guidance while the full analysis completes in the background.
Common mistakes
- Changing your drill target based solely on the Instant Estimate before the full analysis completes. This means the estimate is a heuristic read. The full analysis is more reliable and may identify a different priority fault.
- Treating the Instant Estimate confidence score the same as the full analysis confidence score. This means the estimate is derived from fewer checks and will typically show lower confidence even for faults the full analysis confirms with high confidence.
- Not using the Instant Estimate at all — even a directional heuristic read is valuable for getting started on warm-up drills while the full analysis runs.
- Assuming the Instant Estimate is always faster than the full analysis. This means network conditions and device performance affect timing. The estimate is intended to be faster. But check the status indicator.
In SwingVantage Motion Lab
Motion Lab shows the Instant Estimate as a preliminary overlay on the video with a dashed skeleton and a yellow "Estimate" badge. As the full analysis completes, the overlay updates to the refined skeleton with higher confidence, and the badge changes to reflect the final determination.
