Erken Release

Also known as: flip yapma, tepeden vurma

Definition

Erken release'in enerji maliyeti önemlidir.

Beginner tip

Try the "pump drill". This means in your downswing, stop three times at different positions before impact (hip height, knee height, impact position) and check each time that your hands are ahead of the clubhead. This builds awareness of where your release is happening.

Advanced note

Use impact tape on the clubface combined with shaft lean awareness. This means if you are correctly delivering with shaft lean, your impact tape will show contact on the lower-center of the face. Early release produces contact higher on the face with more dynamic loft. This means using this feedback tells you precisely when and how much you are early-releasing.

Example

Sürekli olarak sıkışma eksik, "boş" hissettiren yüksek, kısa demir vuran bir golfçü erken release yapıyordur.

How it shows up on video

From a down-the-line camera angle, early release is clearly visible as the club shaft losing its lag angle before the hands reach hip height in the downswing. This means the clubhead overtakes the hands and the shaft goes from angled to straight too soon. From a face-on angle, early release manifests as the lead wrist cupping (bending backward) before or at impact. The clubhead appearing to reach the ball at the same height or higher than the hands. Instead of the correct pattern of hands arriving ahead of the ball.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to fix early release by consciously "holding" the wrist angle — this creates tension that makes the release worse. Early release is most effectively fixed by improving sequencing so the hands have a reason to stay back.
  • Gripping tighter to "hold the lag" — tighter grip accelerates early release by restricting wrist joint mobility. Counter-intuitively, softer grip pressure produces later release timing.
  • Scooping to help the ball up — the most ingrained habit that causes early release in recreational golfers. The fix is trusting the loft of the club and making impact with the shaft leaning forward, not backward.
  • Practicing at very slow speeds to fix early release. This means very slow swings do not load the wrists the same way as full-speed swings. As a result, drills at half speed rarely transfer to full swings. Working at 70–80% speed produces more transfer.

In SwingVantage Motion Lab

SwingVantage can identify early release patterns from down-the-line video by tracking the shaft-to-arm angle as the hands descend through the downswing. The system identifies the point at which the lag angle begins to release and compares it against typical impact-zone positions. Confidence in these observations is highest when the camera is positioned directly down the target line.
