Also known as: 发球瞄准, 发球位置
Pick one target zone — deep backhand corner — and aim there for an entire game to develop consistency before adding placement variety.
After identifying the returner's dominant return direction from two or three early serves, deliberately serve behind their movement to the opposite corner. This means anticipating their adjustment is what makes advanced serve placement a weapon.
Example
How it shows up on video
SwingVantage maps each serve's landing zone on a court grid and displays a session-level placement heat map. The system correlates serve placement with return quality to identify which zones produce the weakest returns for each individual opponent.
Common mistakes
- Serving to the same location every point, allowing the opponent to pre-position and eliminate the placement advantage
- Choosing serve placement based on habit rather than reading the opponent's positioning or weaknesses
- Sacrificing depth in the pursuit of corner placement, landing short of the back third and giving the returner a comfortable attacking return
- Changing placement strategy mid-game without observing whether the current strategy is working
In SwingVantage Motion Lab
Motion Lab tracks the serve arm path and paddle-face direction at contact to measure whether the intended placement direction matches the actual ball trajectory, identifying serve mechanics that produce unintentional drift.
