打下坠球
打下坠球是指将棒路向下调整穿过击球区,以匹配下坠球后段的下坠变化,而不是用平直棒路挥棒、从球的上方打空。
下坠球的上旋会让球落在比平直或速球棒路预期击球点更低的位置,因此要打实这种球,球棒在到达球实际的、更低的最终落点时,必须处于略微向下的运行角度。这与打上飘球的调整方向正好相反,击球员通常需要分别训练这两种调整,因为棒路调整的方向截然不同。由于下坠球在大部分飞行过程中与速球轨迹重叠得极具迷惑性,能否成功打实下坠球,很大程度上取决于是否能足够早地识别出这种球路,从而及时做出向下的棒路调整。
