小球隐蔽

小球隐蔽，是指在最后一刻之前，保持球拍准备动作和身体姿态与普通底线球完全一致，让对手承诺去防守一记深球。
小球只有在对手没有及早发现、来不及回位的情况下，才能作为一件战术武器发挥作用;一记打得再好、却明显暴露意图的小球，会给对手足够的时间冲上前去救球，常常把一记聪明的击球变成一次失分。隐蔽性依赖于让引拍长度、拍头速度和身体姿态，都与一记正常的上旋底线球保持一致，直到接触前的最后一刻，此时挥拍才会减速，拍面略微打开，赋予让球在网前附近就没了力量的那种柔和、飘浮的手感。
大多数球员难以隐藏的生物力学破绽，是过早减速——在接触之前明显放慢球拍，而不是恰好在接触瞬间减速——经验丰富的对手能在几拍之外就读出这一点。选对时机与隐蔽性同样重要:小球在对手已经站位靠后、疲惫，或朝错误方向移动时效果最好，因为即便是一记隐蔽得很好的小球，也可能被一名本就靠近网前的球员追上。

Common mistakes
- Decelerating the racquet noticeably before contact, giving away the shot several strides early
