Definition

Ein Bunt für einen Hit ist ein offensiver Versuch, selbst die Base zu erreichen, statt eine Läuferin vorrücken zu lassen, wobei er sich auf Platzierung und Geschwindigkeit statt auf das Eintauschen eines Outs gegen eine Base verlässt.

Anders als bei einem Opfer beabsichtigt die Schlägerin voll, sicher zu sein. Es erfordert spätes Timing (damit die Defensive nicht reagieren und zu früh stürmen kann) und präzise Platzierung – entweder knapp innerhalb der Foul-Linie zur Seite der dritten Base, oder zur freien rechten Seite. Linkshändige Schlagleute und Slapperinnen haben einen natürlichen Vorteil, weil sie den Box-Bereich bereits in Bewegung zur ersten Base verlassen. Es ist eine Waffe, die Eckinfielderinnen ehrlich hält und Lücken für das Kraftspiel schafft.
