AI-Enhanced Analysis
AI-Enhanced Analysis is the optional second layer of SwingVantage's analysis pipeline. This means added on top of the deterministic heuristic result. This means that uses an AI language model to generate contextual explanation, drill language, and coaching narrative.
The deterministic engine runs first and produces a factual fault diagnosis and confidence score. AI enhancement adds a narrative layer. This means plain-English explanation of why the fault matters for your game, personalized drill cues, and coaching context tailored to your skill level. The AI layer cannot contradict or override the deterministic finding; it elaborates on it. All AI-generated content is labeled to distinguish it from deterministic output. The feature requires an active AI key and incurs compute cost; it is off by default in keyless mode.
Read the deterministic findings first, then read the AI-enhanced commentary as context that elaborates on those findings. Never skip the deterministic section — it is the factual core that the AI commentary is explaining and contextualizing.
If AI-enhanced commentary seems uneven with your understanding of your swing, compare it to the deterministic finding it references. If the deterministic finding is sound but the AI commentary seems off, the AI layer may have produced an unusual inference. This means flag it for review rather than either accepting it uncritically or dismissing the whole report.

Why it matters
Numbers without context are hard to act on. AI enhancement turns a diagnostic output into coaching language — but the diagnosis itself stays deterministic.
How it shows up on video
The AI-Enhanced section of a Swing Report is clearly separated from the deterministic section — look for the "AI Enhanced" header and the distinct visual styling. Everything above that header came from the rules engine; everything below is AI-generated narrative explaining and contextualizing those rules engine findings.
Common mistakes
- Reading the AI-enhanced section first and letting it frame your interpretation of the deterministic findings. This means the deterministic section is the primary result. The AI section is supplementary context.
- Treating AI-enhanced drill language as the only way to address a fault. This means the AI generates contextual drill cues. But the underlying fault and its priority come from the deterministic engine. This you can address with any drill that targets the same mechanical position.
- Not recognizing that AI-enhanced analysis requires an active API key — without a key, the AI layer is disabled and only the deterministic findings appear. The keyless output is still fully actionable.
- Assuming the AI section is always correct. This is because it is labeled "AI". This means AI interpretations can be wrong, especially for unusual swing patterns outside the training distribution.
