Definition

离散度是指你的击球分散程度,绘制成一种模式。紧密的离散度意味着可重复的触球;宽的离散度则表明杆面、路径或触球方面存在不一致性。

Beginner tip

Hit 10 shots with your 7-iron to the same target, then walk out and look at where they landed. The radius of that pattern is your current dispersion. Do this at the start and end of every practice session to see whether the work you did actually tightened the pattern.

Advanced note

Analyze your directional and distance scatter on its own. If your directional scatter is tight (within 15 yards side-to-side) but your distance scatter is wide (20+ yards front-to-back with the same club), your face and path are consistent but your strike quality is variable. Target contact drills. If directional scatter is wide, target face-angle consistency drills. These require different practice focus and shouldn't be confused.

Why it matters

How it shows up on video

Dispersion cannot be measured from a single swing on video. But tracking where shots land across multiple repetitions with the same club gives a real-world dispersion map. Slow-motion video can identify whether face angle at impact is consistent from shot to shot — a primary driver of directional scatter.

Common mistakes

  • Judging improvement by best shots rather than average dispersion — a single perfect shot at the end of a struggling session is not progress. Track the pattern across at least 10 shots for a meaningful sample.
  • Confusing a systematic bias with random scatter — if shots reliably leak right, the fix is structural (face, grip, path). If shots scatter randomly left and right, the fix is tempo, attention, or contact.
  • Using total distance for distance dispersion — carry distance is the consistent planning number; total distance varies by bounce and firmness. Use carry for dispersion measurement.
  • Ignoring distance scatter when chasing directional consistency. This means a player who reliably hits every shot 10 yards left but with 40-yard distance scatter has fixed direction but not the score-impacting issue (distance control).
