Definition

استقبال الكرة هو تقنية إمساك الرميات المقذوفة بنظافة وهدوء — تقديمها للحكم بطريقة تعزز إعلانات الضربات وتُحضّر لرمية فورية إذا لزم الأمر.

الاستقبال الجيد يعني إمساك الكرة وإحضارها برفق إلى نقطة تقديم ثابتة قرب المنطقة، دون سحبها بشكل مفاجئ خارج منطقة الضرب (ما يحوّل الضربات إلى كرات في نظر الحكم). الماسكة ذات اليدين الناعمتين والتقديم الثابت تمسك كل كرة بنفس الطريقة، ما يجعل الرميات الحدية تبدو أقرب إلى الضربات. الاستقبال يهيئ أيضاً لرميات أسرع على محاولات سرقة القواعد بإلغاء الحركة الزائدة بعد الإمساك.
