Tor rąk

Also known as: inside-out path, trasa rąk

Definition

Tor rąk to trasa, jaką dłonie przemierzają od pozycji startowej do kontaktu — efektywny, bezpośredni tor do piłki utrzymuje główkę kija w strefie dłużej i zapobiega castingowi.

Najkrótsza droga między dłońmi w pozycji ładowania a punktem kontaktu to lekko zakrzywiona trasa typu inside-out, w której gałka kija zmierza w stronę piłki, zanim „wystrzeli” główka kija.

Pitche do wewnątrz wymagają, by dłonie poprowadziły gałkę do piłki w stronę wewnętrznej połowy, inicjując kontakt wysunięty przed ciało.

Beginner tip

Drill the "knob to the ball" cue in slow-motion dry swings in front of a mirror. This means the knob of the bat should point directly at an imaginary pitch before the barrel begins to move, ensuring the hands are leading the barrel correctly.

Advanced note

Practice location-specific hand path drills where you explicitly adjust the knob direction for inner-half, middle, and outer-half targets. This means building three distinct hand path patterns that fire on its own in games based on pitch location rather than a single path applied to every pitch.

Example

Skracając tor rąk i prowadząc gałkę do piłki, zaczęła pokrywać zewnętrzną tercję i wybijać ją na przeciwne pole, zamiast przeturlać kontakt.

Why it matters

SwingVantage wykrywa, czy Twoje dłonie obierają bezpośredni, czy okrężny tor — długi tor rąk to jeden z najczęstszych błędów u rekreacyjnych pałkarzy i można go skorygować celowanymi ćwiczeniami.

How it shows up on video

On video, hand path is traced from the load position through contact and measured as the route the bottom hand takes relative to the body midline. Common errors visible on camera include the front elbow flying outward before the knob moves toward the contact zone (a primary cause of casting), the hands looping below the back shoulder rather than driving directly toward the ball (producing an upper cut that is too steep for most pitch heights). The knob moving away from the body rather than toward the pitch (adding unnecessary inches to the barrel's travel distance and reducing swing speed through the zone).

Common mistakes

  • Allowing the front elbow to fly outward at the beginning of the swing. This pulls the hands outside the body line and initiates casting before the barrel has moved an inch
  • Looping the hands below the back shoulder on high pitches in an attempt to get under the ball. This produces a steep upward path that catches only the bottom of high fastballs
  • Using an identical hand path on pitches at different locations rather than adjusting the knob direction based on where the pitch is located in the zone
  • Firing the top hand to generate power before the bottom hand has established the knob-to-ball direction. This flips the casting sequence and bypasses the directional control the bottom hand provides

In SwingVantage Motion Lab

SwingVantage tracks the three-dimensional route of the hands from load to contact, measuring the arc length against the theoretical direct path and quantifying how much unnecessary distance the hands travel. Hitters whose hand arc length exceeds the direct-path baseline by more than a calibrated threshold receive a casting alert with frame-level identification of where the loop begins.
