由内而外（In-to-Out）

由内而外描述的是杆头在触球时朝目标线右侧运动（对右打球手而言）。这是正常曲球、勾球和推球背后共同的击球方向。
杆头在触球过程中从目标线——连接球与目标的那条线——的内侧运动到外侧。中立的击球方式会沿着这条线笔直运动；而这种路径会穿越这条线，从身体一侧移向目标一侧。这正是打出正常曲球所需要的方向，通常也会伴随更大的力量和更平缓的攻角。
杆面相对于这个运动方向所处的状态，决定了球的飞行轨迹。如果杆面方正于运动方向，结果是一记直球或轻微推球。如果杆面相对于运动方向关闭、但相对于目标仍处于打开状态，球会起始偏右、随后向左弯曲——形成一记正常曲球。如果杆面相对于运动方向严重关闭，球会形成勾球。如果杆面相对于运动方向打开，就会形成阻滞球：飞向右侧，并停留在那里。
对大多数切球者而言，这个方向是首要问题，因为横切球位正是他们正在对抗的那种飞行轨迹的直接成因。只调整这个方向而不同时管理杆面，会产生偏右的失误，而不是正常曲球。完整的修正需要同时做到两点：更好的运动方向，以及一个相对于这个方向略微关闭、但相对于目标并不关闭的杆面。
Check your divots. On turf, the way one points is the way the club was travelling. Left of target means you are cutting across; right means you are not. Aim for divots pointing at or slightly right of target if you want a draw.
A monitor reads the figure directly: positive numbers here, negative ones for the opposite delivery. Combine it with the face angle and the D-plane model predicts exactly what flight any combination will produce.

How it shows up on video
The number is measured most accurately by launch monitor, but it can be estimated from video. From down the line, the head approaches from inside the line and exits to the outside after impact. Divots are a reliable indicator, and this delivery leaves them pointing right of the target line. From face on, the trail shoulder stays back and the arms swing rightward through impact rather than crossing the body.
Common mistakes
- Manufacturing the direction with the hands. This means swinging the arms rightward produces an arm route, not a genuine delivery change, and leaves a face pointing straight or right
- Getting the direction right without face control. This simply produces blocks It has to be paired with face-closing technique. This means a stronger grip, more forearm rotation. This means before draws appear.
- Overdoing it to cure a slice. This means an extreme rightward delivery combined with a closing face produces snap hooks A moderate figure, between zero and five degrees, is the target rather than an extreme one.
- Aiming right to accommodate the miss instead of fixing it. This means compensating this way is only legitimate for deliberate shot-shaping For golfers trying to fix a block, aiming adjustments reinforce the incorrect delivery.
