Siła podłoża

Also known as: siła reakcji podłoża, GRF

Definition

Siła podłoża w golfie to pionowa i pozioma siła, jaką golfista wpycha w podłoże podczas swingu.

Gdy golfista pcha w dół i lekko na zewnątrz w podłoże, podłoże odpycha z powrotem w górę i do wewnątrz — tworząc reaktywny moment obrotowy rotujący miednicę.

Beginner tip

Try the "step drill" to feel ground force. This means start with your feet together, then step your lead foot toward the target as you begin your downswing. This means the step forces you to load and push from the ground rather than using only your arms.

Advanced note

Use a pressure mat or force plate session to see your actual ground reaction force pattern. Elite players show a clear shift from trail to lead foot peaking near impact. You can directly compare your pattern to tour averages to identify whether you are under-loading the trail side, not shifting, or not pushing through impact.

Example — Pomiar płytą siły

Gracz touru osiąga szczyt pionowej siły podłoża w przedniej stopie tuż przed impactem, wykorzystując podłoże do przyspieszenia bioder.

How it shows up on video

Ground force patterns are not directly visible in standard video, but their effects are observable. From a face-on camera angle, look for the lead heel slightly lifting off the ground in the backswing (trail loading) and then firmly re-planting before or at the start of the downswing. From down-the-line, watch for a small but visible squat or lowering of the entire body in the transition, followed by a clear rise through impact as the reactive ground force propels the body upward and through the ball.

Common mistakes

  • Rolling onto the outside of the trail foot in the backswing — this bypasses the ground. The trail heel should stay connected; pressure should load into the trail heel and instep, not the outer edge.
  • Lifting the lead foot too high or too early. This means some lead heel lift is normal and useful. But excessive lifting disconnects from the ground and makes the shift back into the lead side slower and less powerful.
  • Thinking ground force is only about "pushing down". This means vertical force is one component. But horizontal shear forces. This means the sideways push that creates rotational torque. This means are equally important for producing hip rotation.
  • Neglecting lower body strength training — ground force capacity is trainable. Golfers who skip legs in the gym leave significant speed potential on the table compared to those with strong glutes, quads, and hip stabilizers.

In SwingVantage Motion Lab

SwingVantage observes ground-force indicators in video by analyzing lower-body movement patterns. This means in particular lead heel behavior, squat depth in the transition. The visible rise through impact that accompanies effective ground-force use. These are indirect but meaningful indicators of ground engagement that the system can flag from face-on video footage.
