棒速
棒速是指触球瞬间棒头的移动速度,以英里每小时计算。它与挥棒路径以及触球发生在棒头的哪个位置一起,共同决定击球初速。
棒速是力量的运动学原材料。棒头移动得越快,触球瞬间可传递给球的动能就越多。但棒速只是必要条件,并非充分条件。一次高速却偏离甜蜜点或角度不对的挥棒,传递的能量远少于一次稍慢、但干净、居中触球的挥棒。这正是为什么“更用力挥棒”、过度用力的打者,击球初速往往不升反降——增加的力气破坏了高效产生棒头速度的顺序传导链条。

Bat speed follows sequence, not effort. Relax the grip slightly, fire the hips early, and let the hands follow. Tightening the grip and muscling the swing is the single most common bat-speed killer in younger hitters.
Track the time from hip-fire to contact (the swing trigger lag) rather than just bat speed in isolation. Elite hitters generate significant bat speed over a very short time window because their sequential chain is tight. Longer lag often indicates a missing link in the chain — usually the core or hip connection.

How it shows up on video
Bat speed is not directly readable from standard phone video, but the mechanics that drive it are. Look for whether the hips open aggressively before the hands move, whether there is a visible hip-to-shoulder lag (the torso lags behind the hips for a split second), and whether the barrel arrives at contact with the arms extended or still bent. A sequentially driven swing looks smooth and balanced; an arm-dominant swing looks effortful even when slow.
Common mistakes
- Over-swinging in an attempt to increase bat speed, which typically breaks the kinematic chain and reduces the speed it was meant to increase.
- Training arm strength as the primary bat speed lever. Arm strength contributes less to bat speed than hip rotation and core transfer.
- Measuring peak bat speed from one or two maximum-effort swings rather than tracking average bat speed across a session. This is more predictive of game performance.
