Definition
前门变化球从同手打者的内侧起步——看起来像是要打到打者——最终变化回内角边缘，被判好球，而不是坏球或触身球。
前门变化球是后门变化球的镜像版本，投给同手打者（右投手对右打者）。它的轨迹一开始就朝打者的髋部或后脚飞去——足以让大多数打者本能地闪避或后仰——随后球的变化把它拉回本垒板内角边缘，被判好球。由于初始轨迹看起来很危险，打者很少会挥棒，而这正是这球的用意所在。
前门变化球要求投手对球路变化幅度有完全的信任，因为投出这球意味着要瞄准一个原本会打到打者的位置。对自己顺手侧控球缺乏信心的投手，往往会把这球留得太靠内（存在真正触身球的风险），或者让它变化得太早（变成一颗投向本垒板正中、容易被打的球）。谨慎使用并精准落位的话，这是对一名专等外角球的打者偷取好球最有效的方式之一。

Why it matters

Common mistakes
- Aiming too conservatively toward the plate out of fear of hitting the batter. This turns the pitch into a hittable strike instead of a surprise called strike
- Throwing it to hitters who are aggressive and will simply spit on any inside pitch regardless of shape, wasting the deception
- Overusing the pitch once it works, allowing hitters to adjust and start looking for it inside
